A peaceful start to 2024

The first week of the year began nice and slow, which is just how I ordered it! After all the craziness of last January just after the flood, it was good to relax into the first week, albeit still in a rented house. Something however tells me it won’t be long now until I’m back home.

It doesn’t really matter where I live when it comes to my work, because it allows me to travel and this year I was heading out to Switzerland again, where I was to take a new group of students through my foundation course in Basel. It was a brilliant week in what looked like a winter wonderland of snow, mist and frosted forests. By contrast, our seminar was filled with warmth, laughter and great experiences, which bonded our group and saw lots of new friendships form.

Whilst in Basel I was asked if I could pop back out later in the month to record some footage for the upcoming ‘Flo Summit,’ which begins on the 1st of March and now has me as its main speaker. This meant another trip to the Younity studios, where I made 30 short videos in two days! Some might think it exhausting, but not when you work with young creative people who give out such a positive vibe. The whole thing was a buzz and flowed quite easily, pardon the pun!

Returning from this trip, I brought a special feeling of hope for the next part of my journey. It was good to be away and always better to come home to walk the dogs and be back in Bonnie Scotland. I was so looking forward to my new zoom course I had prepared which is all about working with the senses, when indeed I felt a sense that all was not as well as I thought! Suddenly without warning, I had developed a fever and in no time at all I was showing all the signs of having a flu.

Sadly for me, I was forced to cancel my first session of my new course. This is something I hadn’t done in years, but when the body and mind won’t align, then you just have to surrender. Lucky for me all the participants on the course were very supportive when Jacqui put out an email of postponement.

I want to thank all who were very gracious about this and promise to make your course even better when we get started next month.

January slowly faded out for me this year. It began slowly and ended the same with a burst of excitement in the middle. I have a feeling that next month is going to be much more active, eventful and exciting, as I have just been assured that before the end of February, I am moving back home!!!

I have the busiest but best month ahead. All I have to do now is close my eyes, click my heals three times and say, “there’s no place like home” and I’ll be there lol.

I wish you all a fabulous February!

Best wishes G x
